Like all Herman Miller chairs, the Equa 2 chairs are environmentally friendly chairs composed of 36% recycled materials.  Come the end of their product life, these chairs are 86% recyclable so they won’t have to end up sitting in some remote landfill.

All in all, this chair is highly adjustable and well worth the price.  If you’re looking for an affordable ergonomic chair, this could be the one.  I highly suggest conducting further research at the manufacturer’s website.

If you’re looking for a nice ergonomic drafting chair or stool combo, the Boss drafting stool can be purchased for around $100 which isn’t all that expensive when compared to luxury ergonomic office chairs that range easily into the thousands of dollars.

For roughly $80 you get a charcoal office chair with pneumatic seat height adjustment, 360 swivel, tilt tension and lock adjustments, sliding casters for carpet floors, and… basically that’s all folks.  This is a standard chair like I mentioned earlier and you’re not going to get much more than the basics at a price like this.  The only thing that makes this chair even remotely unique is the casters designed to work with carpet flooring.

This is a simple, standard, very comfortable doctor’s stool with adjustable height and 5 wheels for easy movement.

The Alera Interval Series swivel/task chair is available for $65 which is an amazing bargain and is certainly worthy of mention when discussing good cheap office chairs.

Before we can go into detail as to how to choose the best ergonomic office chair, it’s only right that we first describe what is actually meant when the term ergonomic chair is thrown out there. According to Herman Miller (the leader in ergonomic office furniture) a chair becomes ergonomic when it specifically adapts to its users size, workstation and daily tasks. In other words, an office chair that is specifically designed around persons over all productivity can be correctly labeled as ergonomic.

So How Do I Choose the Right Ergonomic Chair Then?

While this is a nice ergonomic office chair, it’s by no means the best.  To be honest in my review, I would have to say that this chair is inadequate in many aspects when compared to your top of the line Herman Miller chairs like the fully loaded Aeron chair with headrest extension.  Then again, for less than half the price of a chair like the Aeron, this is not a half bad purchase.  Though, if I were going to buy cheap I’d probably go even cheaper and try to stay within the $50-$150 range as there’s no real significant differences between this mesh task chair and others that are considerably less expensive.  So either shoot for the stars and get the best ergonomic chair money can buy or go cheap and get something a little bit less pricey than this particular chair.  That’s my honest advice so take it as you will.

This is not a bad typical foam padded executive office chair. It’s quite standard and the excessive amount of padding is quite comfortable indeed. The high back is great for tall individuals but is also very comfy for shorter folks as well.

Features are mesh back, padded mesh seat, nylon t-arms, and pneumatic seat height adjustment.  Like I stated before, this is just your average cheap mesh computer chair so take it as it is.

Anyone looking for a nice standard ergonomic mesh task chair should seriously consider the Ergo Value mid-back task chair as a viable option – given the $170 price hasn’t already convinced you otherwise.

These days, $170 won’t usually get you much but with all the competition to sell online the prices have been driven down and you can surprisingly obtain a legitimate high back leather executive office chair from manufacturer Boss for as little as $167.88!  What a deal.

These varying zones of tension are what give the user the impression of sitting on water as the weight of the body is evenly distributed and supported. Containing much of the same comforting ergonomic technology as the Aeron at a more affordable price has its drawbacks – or should I say drawbacks? As this chair fails miserably in the recline department due to its apparent lack of a headrest. Otherwise, the Mirra really and truly is the next generation Aeron chair.

This excellent ergonomic office chair by Herman Miller has achieved a breakthrough success in office chair technology through the innovation of an intelligent back material.  What makes this particularly unique is how the material is stretched from the Y-Frame to create various levels of tension in different areas.  Between the lumbar and the thoracic areas and between the lumbar and the sacrum area you have higher levels of tension which allow these hinge points to flex and adequately support healthy movement of the tilting of the pelvis.  On the other side, the areas with less tension allow the seated user to maintain a full range of movement.
