The Celle’s name is derived from the cellular suspension system crafted from 1,578 polymer cells designed to to emulate the feeling of sitting on water. This unique suspension composed of individual cells looped together was engineered to facilitate perfect support of the body while simultaneously allowing air to pass, keeping you cool while you work.

Patented Ergonomic Technology
Focused on human comfort, the Celle incorporates the usual patented Herman Miller technology like PostureFit lumbar support and Harmonic tilt. The harmonic tilt allows one to easily kick back and recline as it tilts back up to 28 degrees. Perhaps significantly more important is the somewhat infamous PostureFit passive lumbar support system that essentially allows the pelvis to naturally tilt forward which in turn allows the spine to remain adequately aligned regardless of whether one is leaning forward or backwards.

For the price-tag, the Celle is definitely best in the class in my mind. The Herman Miller Celle chair price comes in around $700.00 (US) which does not make it what I would personally consider to be a cheap ergonomic chair, but, rather more of an inexpensive elite ergonomic chair.  In my opinion, it’s incredibly difficult to acquire an office chair for that price that’s half as comfortable as the Celle, but hey, I’m just some guy who allocates 6-8 hours a day, 5 days a week, to sitting in a chair – what the hell would I know?!

If there’s anything to be said in this Celle chair review, it’s this: The Celle chair by Herman Miller is an affordable and extremely comfortable work chair capable of various applications from the home to the office and more than capable of accommodating any body type. Serious about comfort? Tired of back/neck pains? The answer is Herman Miller’s Celle designed by Jerome Caruso. A chair composed of tiny cells, each of which responding to different anatomical areas, is truly a visionary design implementation. After purchasing this chair, I must say that it is way more comfortable than any chair in its price range.
